Biotica presenting data on its Hsp90 inhibitor series at the 2007 AACR
Cambridge, UK: 18 April 2007
Hsp90 is a promising target for anticancer drug development. Biotica has discovered a series of non-quinone ansamycin derivatives using its platform technology of genetically engineered biosynthesis. The lead compound from this series has potent Hsp90 inhibition, broad anticancer spectrum and therapeutic window. It is synergistic with approved chemotherapeutics cuasing tumor regression. An oral presentation (Towards ‘best-in-class’ Hsp90 inhibitors: Design, biosynthesis and pre-clinical profiles. Abstract number 5724) describing this development candidate will be given at the session Experimental and Molecular Therapeutics 50, Wednesday, April 18 2007, 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM at the upcoming AACR Annual Meeting in LA, USA.
In addition, a poster presentation on a second chemical series of Hsp90 inhibitors (Design, synthesis and biological evaluation of ansamycin prodrugs as water-soluble Hsp90 inhibitors. Abstract number 5724) will also be given at the same meeting (Session: Experimental and Molecular Therapeutics 48, Wednesday, April 18 2007, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM).
