To maintain its therapeutic flexibility, Biotica recruits a team of advisors for each optimisation project.
Range of expertise
For each project, Biotica’s advisor team usually consists of an expert in the molecular target, a translational researcher and a clinician. All of Biotica’s advisors are experts in their fields, and usually have pharmaceutical industry experience as well as outstanding academic records.
Evaluating potential projects
Biotica works with its advisors to construct a target product profile and development plan for each project. These are based on an assessment of the current standard of care in the chosen indication, and the profile of any competitors in development. A programme is only progressed if there is a clear path to addressing a genuine unmet need.
Ongoing project assessment
The target product profile and development plan are designed for rapid proof-of-concept, with clear objectives at each stage of the process that must be met if the project is to continue. As each project progresses, Biotica and its advisors regularly assess achievements against the objectives and evaluate the project’s positioning against existing and potential competitors.
